marry

The traditional concept has been broken, and rental housing has become a common phenomenon in Shanghai, especially in those new Shanghai people who are out of town.

In order to get married, Yao Yao and Xiao Yu have seen eight houses in recent two weeks. Finally, they finally selected a place in the border area of Jiading, Putuo, but they did not buy it, but rented it.

Nowadays, the traditional concept of buying a house before getting married has been broken. Rental housing has become a common phenomenon in Shanghai, especially among the new Shanghai people who are out of town.

Rent a new house and set up a wedding banquet.

Yao Yao and Xiao Yu have been thinking about getting married for a long time, but because there is no marriage room, things are dragging on.

The two were all from Weihai, Shandong, and less than three years after graduating from university. The monthly income of two people added up to no more than 5000 yuan.

Before, two people rented a house in the Jinyang neighborhood near Zhongshan Park for a temporary residence, 25 square meters, and 1200 yuan monthly rent.

At the beginning of this month, Yao Xiao's couple decided.

Rent marriage

The original rental house is too small.

Recently, the couple began to look for a bigger house nearby.

After seeing several places, the price far exceeded their expectations.

The two extend the scope of search from Changning District to Putuo District as a whole.

In the end, they took a fancy to a house at the junction of Putuo and Jiading. Ding Xiangyuan of Xiang Zhang Road, with a floor area of 54 square meters and a monthly rent of 1200 yuan.

Last weekend, they moved to their new homes.

This rented marriage room is far away from Yao Yao, and the time of work is ten times that of the previous one.

It was ten minutes before she could go to the company. It took 1.5 hours to take a bus from the start station to the terminal.

For this inconvenience, Yao Yao is very indifferent. "We don't have much money to get married in a bigger house. It's pretty good."

Two people bought a lot of cheap and practical things.

"The sofa of the landlord is too old to buy a new one, and it also brings more atmosphere of marriage."

In a few days, they had made the house look like a picture.

Yao Yao said, anyway, just a few friends, the wedding banquet was placed at home, there was no shame.

Marriage is a common phenomenon.

According to incomplete statistics, the number of rented people in Shanghai has reached 3 million, and the new Shanghai people like Yao Yao and Xiao Yu have taken up the overwhelming majority.

Most of them have reached the age of marriage. Because of the inability to buy a house or not to consider buying a house for the time being, it has become the choice of many people to rent a house.

In the interview, the reporters found that the new Shanghai people who married and married were basically represented by the following three.

One is that there is not enough money to buy houses, and the family can not afford to support them. Such a situation accounts for a large number. The second type is that the family can afford to subsidized, but the young people are unwilling to use old people's money and insist on saving money by buying their own money. Third kinds of people have enough housing funds in their hands, but because they are worried about housing prices and ups and downs, they do not intend to buy houses in the short term, so they choose to rent houses for marriage.

Expert comment

Jiang Yimin, an associate professor of sociology at East China Normal University, said the phenomenon of marriage in renting reflects the rationalization of social choices in Shanghai.

The traditional Chinese idea is to have a fixed place rather than to live in a rented house, especially after marriage and family establishment.

But for new Shanghai people, marriage is a very expensive thing. When they first arrived in Shanghai, their social capital was very small, and their family support was very limited.

Renting a house is a rational choice after considering the cost of housing, personal affordability and future risks.

This also reflects the mutual influence of social consciousness.

The traditional view is that it is shameful to rent a house to marry, but this is no longer considered in the circle of Shanghai people.

Friends compare with each other and feel that there is nothing wrong with getting married in renting.

The interaction between these groups also makes renting a marriage more and more a choice for new Shanghai people.
