The International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) has just released the thirty-fourth annual international textile machinery shipment statistics show that 2008/2009's new textile machinery worldwide shipments significantly reduced, in 2010 the new textile machinery deliveries increased sharply, and continued to increase in 2011, most of the volume of shipments of new products.

Compared with 2010, the global shipment of new spinning machines increased by 15% (short fiber spindles), 35% (long fiber spindles) and 27% (open rotors), the new stretch deformed spindles increased by 42%, the new shuttleless looms increased by 44%, and the new electronic flat knitting machine increased by 37%.

Only the global shipments of new large knitting machines are reduced by 16% in 2011.

This report covers 6 types of textile machinery, namely spinning, deforming, weaving, large knitting circular knitting machines, flat knitting and finishing machinery.

In 2011, about 118 textile machinery manufacturers participated in the compilation of the survey, representing a comprehensive assessment of world production.

Spinning machinery

In 2008, the shipment of new staple spindles decreased by 33%, by 17% in 2009, and by 75% in 2010, back to the pre crisis level, and by 15% in 2011, a record high of 14 million 330 thousand.

94% of all staple spindles were shipped to Asia (13 million 460 thousand), of which China absorbed 8 million 900 thousand or 62% of global shipments, followed by India, ranked second, absorbed 2 million 490 thousand, or 17% of global shipments, Bangladesh (639000 or 4.5%), Turkey (628000 or 4.4%), Indonesia (4.4% or 4.5%).

In 2011, global shipments of long fiber (Yang Mao) spindles surged 35% to 113250.

Europe is the main buyer (53750 or 47%), followed by Asia (49000 or 43%), the United States (8750 or 7.7%) and Africa (2000 or 1.8%).

The largest single investor of long fiber (Yang Mao) spindles is Turkey (32500), followed by China (23400), Iran (14300), United Arab Emirates (9000) and Italy (8800).

In 2011, investment in open rotors jumped 27% to 572250, setting a new high.

Asia has once again become the largest investor to date, with a total installed capacity of 463250 new rotors or 81% of global shipments.

China is by far the largest single rotor investor, taking 388250 or 68% of the world's shipments.

India again ranked second, installing new open rotor 37750 (6.6%), followed by Turkey 35250 rotor or (1.8%), Uzbekistan 10250 rotor (6.2%), Brazil 30250 rotor (5.3%) and the United States 12250 rotor (2.1%).

Deformation machine

In 2011, the single heaters drafting deformed spindle (nylon filament) shipments were lower than 13200 in 2010 to 1824 (-86%).

This type of deformed spindle has been installed in only two countries, Taiwan, China (1536) and Vietnam (288).

In 2011, the investment of dual heater drafting deformed spindles (polyester filament) surged from 568250 in 2010 to 826500, an increase of 45% over the same period last year.

This also means that the newly released double heated drafting deformation spindle has reached a record high.

So far, the biggest investor of this type of machine is China, installing 624500 new spindles or 76% of global shipments, followed by India 90000 or 11%, Turkey 20000 or 2.4%, Japan 19750 or 2.4%, Taiwan 7500 or 0.9%.

Weaving machinery

In 2011, the global shipment volume of shuttleless looms was 153750, up 44% from 107000 last year.

The main reason is the surge in the volume of water jet looms.

In 2010, it surged 537% to 73250, partly because more weaving machinery manufacturers submitted their first report in 2010, and shuttleless looms global shipments surged 54% to 2011 at 2011.

In shuttleless looms, the 2011 rapier loom / ejection loom shipments increased from 16000 in 2010 to 19250 units, an increase of 20% over the same period.

Similarly, the delivery volume of air-jet looms in shuttleless looms increased by 21% in 2011, from 17750 in 2010 to 21500 units.

As in previous years, the main destination of shuttleless looms is Asia, and Asia absorbs 148500 or 96% of all new shuttleless looms installed.

From the national perspective, the world's largest investor is China, with 128100 looms (83%), including 106000 water jet looms, 13900 air-jet looms and 8250 rapier looms / ejection looms.

India ranked second, 9100 looms (6%), Indonesia 2900 (1.9%), and South Korea 2500 looms (1.6%).

Circular and flat knitting machinery

In 2011, the global shipments of large circular knitting machines dropped by -16% from 34500 in 2010 to 28900 units.

Nevertheless, the volume of large circular knitting machines has reached a record high of third.

Asia is the main regional investor of such machines, which has absorbed 26400 machines or accounted for 91% of all shipments of such machines in 2011.

The largest single investor is China, with a total of 21200 units (73% of the global market share), followed by India, 1500 (5.2%), Bangladesh 1050 machines (or 3.6%) and Turkey 900 (or 3.1%).

In the electronic knitting flat products, global shipments increased 37% to 70000 units in 2011.

Most of the global shipments of electronic flat knitting machines were exported to Asia (65250 or 93%), while Europe (including Turkey) accounted for 5.8% (4100 machines).

The largest single investor in 2011 was China, installing 54800 new machines (78%), Bangladesh 4475 machines (6.4%), Hongkong 2930 (4.2%), Turkey 2150 machines (3.1%) and Italy 1120 machines (1.6%).
