Recently, the torch center of the Ministry of science and Technology issued a notice that 43 industrial clusters were included in the list of innovative industrial cluster pilot (cultivation) in 2021, among which Xiantao nonwoven industry cluster was listed.

According to the circular, the 43 listed innovative industrial clusters should focus on the major needs of the country, take scientific and technological innovation as the core, strive to enhance the industrial innovation ability, strengthen the innovation service and business guidance, improve the supporting policies, and focus on the cultivation and development of science and technology enterprises and industries with international competitiveness; By making up and strengthening the chain, the innovation chain is deployed around the industrial chain, and the industrial chain is arranged around the innovation chain, so as to create a number of world-class innovative industrial clusters.

Since this year, Xiantao science and Technology Bureau has conscientiously implemented the deployment requirements of the municipal Party committee and the municipal government, guided the nonwoven industry to increase R & D investment, strengthen the key core technology research and development, and guide relevant enterprises and colleges such as Tuoying new materials and Wuhan Textile University to become the nonwovens technology innovation center, The 2021 Xiantao university enterprise cooperation innovation platform promotion and scientific and technological achievements transformation docking meeting was held. The two platforms of technology innovation center and Industrial Technology Research Institute were grandly introduced and displayed, and a number of achievements of Huazhong University of science and technology, Wuhan University, central China Normal University, Donghua University and other universities were connected. At the same time, a school enterprise cooperation promotion meeting was held, and Professor Xu Weilin, President of Wuhan Textile University, was invited as the development consultant of the city's nonwovens industry. Eight enterprises signed enterprise school cooperation agreements with Wuhan Textile University to help the innovation and upgrading of nonwovens industry. With the support of the provincial science and Technology Department, the nonwovens industry cluster is recommended to apply for the innovative industrial cluster of the Ministry of science and technology, so as to promote the innovation and development of the leading industry and improve the development ability of the industrial cluster.

It is reported that Xiantao nonwovens industry has become the city's first pillar industry after nearly 40 years of development. In 2020, Xiantao City launched the construction of "four bases and two centers" for nonwovens, and vigorously promoted the upgrading of production capacity, structure and brand of nonwovens industry. The total number of enterprises in the nonwovens industrial cluster in the city reached 1989, with more than 90000 employees. The city achieved a revenue of 58.795 billion yuan and a tax revenue of 2.035 billion yuan National foreign trade transformation and upgrading base, China's nonwovens production base, China's famous nonwovens industry city, China's nonwoven material supply base, and China's top 100 county level industrial cluster competitiveness.
