National Bureau Of Statistics: The Total Cotton Output In China This Year Is 5.618 Million Tons, Down 6.1% From Last Year

 

According to the statistical survey of 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in China (the cotton planting area in Xinjiang is obtained through remote sensing measurement), the cotton planting area in 2023 will be 2788.1 thousand hectares, 212.2 thousand hectares less than that in 2022; The yield per unit area was 2014.9 kg/ha, an increase of 21.8 kg/ha.

According to the announcement of the National Bureau of Statistics on the 25th, according to the statistical survey of 31 provinces (districts and cities) in China (the cotton planting area in Xinjiang is obtained through remote sensing measurement), the cotton planting area, unit area yield and total yield in 2023 are as follows:

1、 The cotton planting area in China is 27881 thousand hectares (41.822 million mu), 2122 thousand hectares (3.183 million mu) less than that in 2022, a decrease of 7.1%.

2、 The national cotton output per unit area is 2014.9 kg/ha (134.3 kg/mu), an increase of 21.8 kg/ha (1.5 kg/mu) or 1.1% over 2022.

3、 The total cotton output in China is 5.618 million tons, 362000 tons less than that in 2022, down 6.1%.
